Product Description:

Stainless Steel 321 Mesh is widely used in the high temperature applications such as in exhausts that have temperature above 800of and moderate corrosive conditions. It is resistant to scaling and vibration fatigue. Stainless steel 321 grade consists of titanium by 5 times of carbon concentration. This decreases or prevents chromium carbide precipitation allowing welding or exposure at the elevated temperatures.

Stainless steel 321 mesh is a stabilized austenitic stainless steel with high creeping strength. The complete stabilization is received by annealing up to 1850oF.  The mesh specifications offered are – AMS 5510 and ASTM A240.

Stainless Steel 321 Mesh Chemical composition:

C Mn Cr Ni Ti P S Si N
0.08 2 17 – 19 9 to 12 0.70 0.040 0.030 0.75 % 0.1

Stainless steel 321 is insensitive to intergranular attack when heated within the precipitation limit of 425oC to 850oC. It is a recommended choice for applications where temperature goes high up to 900oC. It has high strength, scaling resistance and phase stability and prevents aqueous corrosion attack.

SS 321 Mesh Corrosion Resistance:

SS 321 is resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion in the hot chloride conditions and to stress corrosion cracking above 60oC. It offers good resistance to potable water with about 200 mg/l chlorides at ambient temperatures.

Great oxidation resistance in the intermittent applications up to 900oC and in regular service up to 925oC. Grade 321 offers good performance in the range of 425oC to 900oC and specifically in aqueous media. It has high hot strength and is used in the elevated temperature structural applications.
