Technical Data Mesh Specification ChartsKanthal mesh made from Kanthal, a family of iron-chromium-aluminum (FeCrAl) alloys known for their high resistance to heat and oxidation. Kanthal is widely used in high-temperature applications due to its ability to withstand extreme temperatures while maintaining structural integrity. If you need a mesh that can withstand extreme temperatures and harsh conditions, Kanthal mesh is an excellent choice.
There are 3 grades available: Kanthal D(max. working temperature 1200℃), Kanthal A1(max. working temperature 1300℃) and Kanthal APM(max. working temperature 1400℃).
Key Properties of Kanthal Mesh:
1. High-Temperature Resistance:
– Kanthal can withstand temperatures up to 1,400°C (2,552°F), making it ideal for high-temperature applications.
2. Oxidation Resistance:
– Forms a protective layer of aluminum oxide when heated, preventing further oxidation and extending its lifespan.
3. Strength and Durability:
– Maintains mechanical strength even at high temperatures, reducing the risk of deformation.
4. Long Lifespan:
– Resistant to thermal cycling and corrosion, ensuring durability in harsh environments.
Applications of Kanthal Mesh:
Advantages:
– Exceptional Heat Resistance: Can withstand extreme temperatures without degrading.
– Oxidation Resistance: Forms a protective oxide layer, extending its lifespan.
– Durability: Resistant to thermal cycling and mechanical stress.
– Customizability: Can be tailored to specific requirements (e.g., mesh size, wire diameter).
Disadvantages:
– Cost: Kanthal is more expensive than some other materials like stainless steel.
– Brittleness: Can become brittle after prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
