Nickel Mesh includes Nickel Wire Mesh and Expanded Nickel Foil. They are both made of pure nickel(UNS N02200/2201, Ni>99.5%). Nickel Wire Mesh is made of pure nickel wire while nickel expanded foil is made of pure nickel foil.
Nickel Wire Mesh is widely used in chemical processing applications where high resistance to different chemicals such as acids, alkalis and neutral media is required. The recommended applications includes alkali production, chemical filtration, aerospace engineering, caustic treatment, drug processing, screening and separation of gas and liquid in the presence of strong acid and alkali media.
Expanded Nickel Foil is widely used as battery electrode, for example as nickel-compartment/Ni-Hi/Li-ion battery electrode. Expanded Nickel Foil is manufactured by symmetrically slitting and stretching the nickel sheet to produce diamond shape openings. This type of expanded mesh has avoided the electric flow problem which usually occurs in the woven wire mesh.
