Incoloy Mesh

Incoloy mesh is a woven or welded wire mesh made from Incoloy alloys, a family of nickel-iron-chromium-based superalloys designed for high-temperature and corrosive environments. These alloys offer excellent oxidation resistance, strength, and corrosion resistance, making them ideal for demanding industrial applications.

Key Incoloy Alloys Used for Mesh:

  1. Incoloy 800/800H/800HT:

   – High resistance to oxidation & carburization.

   – Used in furnaces, heat treatment, and petrochemical industries.

   – 800H/800HT have improved creep resistance at high temps.

  1. Incoloy 825:

   – Enhanced corrosion resistance (acidic & alkaline environments).

   – Contains molybdenum & copper for sulfuric/phosphoric acid resistance.

   – Common in chemical processing, oil & gas, and marine applications.

      3. Incoloy A286:

   – Good strength and oxidation resistance, especially at temperatures up to 1300°F (700°C)

   -Excellent fabrication characteristics

      4. Incoloy 925:

   – Age-hardenable alloy with high strength.

   – Used in sour gas wells (H₂S resistance) and downhole equipment.

 Features of Incoloy Mesh:

✔ High-temperature resistance (up to 2100°F / 1150°C for some grades).

✔ Resists oxidation, carburization, and sulfidation.

✔ Good mechanical strength in corrosive & high-pressure environments.

✔ Performs well in acidic, alkaline, and chloride-rich conditions.

 Applications of Incoloy Mesh:

– Chemical Processing: Filters, catalyst support, reactor screens.

– Oil & Gas: Sour gas filtration, wellhead screens.

– Heat Treatment & Furnaces: Mesh belts, radiant tubes.

– Power Generation: Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems.

– Marine & Aerospace: Corrosion-resistant shielding & filtration.

 Mesh Specifications:

– Weave Types: Crimped weave, Plain weave, twill weave, Dutch weave.

– Wire Diameter: From ultrafine (0.025 mm) to heavy-duty (several mm).

– Mesh Count: Fine (100+ mesh) to coarse (single-digit mesh).

– Forms: Rolls, sheets, custom-cut panels, fabricated parts.

Incoloy Mesh vs. Inconel mesh vs. Hastelloy Mesh

Alloy Type Primary Composition Key Strengths Best For
Incoloy Ni-Fe-Cr (+ Mo, Cu, Ti) High-temp oxidation resistance, moderate corrosion resistance Heat exchangers, furnaces, chemical processing
Inconel Ni-Cr (+ Mo, Nb) Extreme temp strength, oxidation resistance Jet engines, nuclear reactors, high-heat zones
Hastelloy Ni-Mo-Cr (+ W, Co) Best for harsh acids (HCl, H₂SO₄), pitting/crevice corrosion Chemical reactors, pollution control, aggressive media

Choosing the Right Incoloy Mesh:

– For high-temperature oxidation resistance → Incoloy 800H/HT

– For acid/chloride resistance → Incoloy 825

– For sour gas (H₂S) environments → Incoloy 925
