Monel wire mesh- Excellent material for making screen for filtration

Monel is a strong alloy of nickel and copper with high resistance to salt water, atmospheric corrosion and various types of acid & alkaline solutions. Monel 400 can be magnetic as per the composition and is widely used for chemical & hydrocarbon processing equipment, marine engineering, shafts, valves, fasteners, pumps, heat exchangers and fittings.  Monel K-500 has addition of aluminum and titanium for age hardening. This alloy is completely nonmagnetic and spark resistant. It is used for propeller shafts on various types of vessels and exhibits high fatigue strength in seawater. It is used for gyroscope application and anchor cable aboard minesweepers. It is also used for handling organic acids, caustic and dry chlorine in chemical process applications.

Monel wire mesh is used to manufacture screen baskets. These screen baskets are used to provide the finest filtration. These screen baskets are specifically designed to fulfill high purification needs. Excellent filtration is achieved by using a combination of regular perforated sheet metal baskets and finer commercial grade wire cloth. The potential of these baskets can be increased with the help of magnetic insertion. The mesh screen baskets can be made in various mesh sizes. Plain weave wire mesh is woven by alternating the shute wire over and under the warp wire creating a wire mesh. Twill weave wire mesh is woven by passing the shute wire over and under two warp wires creating a sturdier weave. This weave allows the use of heavier wires producing a stronger wire mesh. Plain Dutch weave wire mesh is woven using two sizes of wire. Smaller wires of micron size are used in the shute direction and are woven with a larger warp wire. The large wire is used to provide strength to the mesh and the smaller wires are woven tightly together in order to provide a tight mesh for filtering. Twill Dutch weave wire mesh uses the combination of Dutch and Twill weaving to achieve a fine mesh -filtering cloth. Shute wires are passed over and under two warp wires providing a tight and fine filter with tapered openings.
