Droplet Separation Demister

From the several decades, our wire mesh droplet separators have been successfully employed in the wide range of applications and design forms about 18m in diameter.

The wire mesh droplet separators demister are utilized for the eradication of liquid drops from the exhaust gases, exhaust air and steam. It can be used in the various applications and equipments such as:

Absorbers, marine distillation system, washers, sulphuric acid plants, vacuum columns, sound absorbers, distillation and rectification units, oil separators, evaporators and flash vessel systems

While separation, the drops enter the wire mesh and strike with its surface due to their moment of gravity. The gathered drops combine at the cross point in the mesh and drop down as bigger drops into the vessel. The separation yield that is influenced by voids and the specific wiremesh surface area enhances with increasing the flow pace. Because of flooding, the maximum flow pace limit should not be exceeded, otherwise it will cause re-entrainment.

The obtainable limit of drop size for 99.9% frictional separation yield is within five to twelve micro-m for standard wire mesh types.Through customizing design and pattern of wire mesh, lowering the minimum drop size is feasible up to 3 micro-m.

As a comprehensive part of our service, we deliver professional practical assistance for the material choice in the specific application and specification calculations for adequate operations and the high separation efficiency, while considering the basic influential factors. The wire mesh droplet separators are made with thin wires in the different mesh sizes, where a wire diameter in the limit of 0.5 mm to 0.1 mm is commonly utilized.

The specific surface area of the demister pad covers a limit from approx. 150m2/m3 to 1100 m2/m3.

Normally, the specially made designs and support grids are offered as the support for the mesh pad that is arranged to a minimum area of 90%.

While an installation of the wire mesh, it should be confirmed that the mesh pad is tightly fitted along the wall column to prevent the gas flow.

We supply the broad range of metallic materials to handle the temperature and corrosive conditions of the specific application.

The mesh demister pad height varies from 100 to 150mm in the several applications. If the gas or steam flow comprises of very fine mist like that produced while condensation, a significantly large pad height or multiple layer design may be essential.
